I'm a Member of Technical Staff at Character AI. Previously, I co-founded and served as CTO at Quilt Labs. I completed a Ph.D. in Machine Learning at NYU and a B.S. in Computer Science from Cornell.

  • Post-trained open-source LMs to match internal models; online A/B tests showed wins.

  • Developed deep learning methods for large‑scale hypothesis testing in genomics and RNA biology.
  • Built and deployed a mortality prediction model at NYU Langone to inform ICU patient prioritization during COVID‑19.

Visiting Researcher, UCLA (May 2018 – Jan 2020)

  • Modeled human height from SNPs using statistical machine learning (host: Prof. Sriram Sankararaman).
